UN committee publishes Privacy Enhancing Technologies guide

The Task Team of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Big Data and Data Science for Official Statistics has published a Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) guide. The document examines the advantages and limitations of several data protection approaches in order to provide National Statistical Offices with current best practices for applying PETs. The guide divides PETs into two separate categories. It also provides an overview of standards-making activities and identifies new standards for processing datasets.
