UK Interim Committee report calls for accelerated AI governance

In its latest interim report, the House of Commons Science, Innovation and Technology Committee highlights that the UK has a longstanding reputation for developing trustworthy and innovative regulation. As such, a significant opportunity exists for the UK to become "one of the go-to places in the world for the development and deployment of AI."

Furthermore, the report recommends the Government should "accelerate, not to pause, the establishment of a governance regime for AI, including whatever statutory measures as may be needed."
