Consumers losing interest in Amazon Alexa as privacy fears mount

Internal documents from Amazon have revealed consumers are losing interest in smart speakers due to privacy concerns. As a result, Amazon has forecasted a drop in sales of its Echo devices. Meanwhile, other internal research points to the fact Alexa devices often go unused, with up to 15% of new users no longer using the assistant in the second week of ownership. When devices are used, it is for basic functions such as playing music or setting timers.
