GDPR enforcement not working, says Věra Jourová

European Commission Vice President for Values and Transparency Věra Jourová has said she is not satisfied with enforcement of the EU General Data Protection Regulation saying "we see gaps." Jourová noted how some data protection authorities are understaffed, underfunded and are not supported by their governments. Jourová said GDPR's "decentralized system for enforcement" was "meant to be a strong tool," but if it does not work, she said, "then we will have to propose changes."
