UK bans TikTok on government devices, US threatens outright ban

The Cabinet Office announced on Thursday, 16 March, that the TikTok mobile app is prohibited from government devices following a security review. The move aligns the UK with similar actions by the European Commission and the US government

In related news, The Guardian reports that the US government has threatened to ban TikTok in the US unless the social media company‚Äôs Chinese owners divest their stakes in the company.
