As the artificial intelligence (AI) transformation accelerates, we expect organisations will feel compelled to embrace AI technologies in every part of their operations. With its ability to revolutionise industries, optimise processes, improve efficiency, and enable new ways of working, AI adoption will result in substantial cost savings and provide a welcome boost to productivity. While the pace of development is becoming increasingly intense, considerable challenges remain, including how to ensure the wider workforce uses AI responsibly, particularly where personal data processing is involved.
To address these concerns, organisations must implement comprehensive AI literacy training programmes that enable employees to safely take advantage of the opportunity AI presents. As such, AI literacy initiatives should be designed to equip employees at all levels with the necessary skills to make informed decisions about when, where, and how to use AI systems and tools appropriately.
Given the rapid and ongoing advancements in AI technologies, AI literacy training is not a one-time event; instead, it should be viewed as a continuing process. However, the benefits of AI literacy training go beyond promoting responsible use of AI among employees. It also creates a more knowledgeable workforce better prepared to innovate and take advantage of an AI-driven future.
The EU Artificial Intelligence Act applies to any AI technologies used within the EU. Starting from February 2025, Article 4 of the Act requires that any organisation developing and deploying AI systems for use in the EU must ensure their staff have sufficient AI literacy.
This one-day course on AI Literacy provides a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) systems and technologies, along with their practical applications in the workplace. The interactive session will cover basic AI concepts, ethical considerations, and hands-on demonstrations of AI tools. Attendees will acquire the knowledge and confidence to effectively integrate AI solutions into their daily tasks. No prior experience in AI is required. This course is suitable for non-technical employees who want to use AI tools to enhance productivity and efficiency while developing the necessary skills to ensure their responsible use.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
