TikTok opens two European data centres, EU bans app on gov devices

TikTok has announced it is preparing to open two additional European data centres in a move aimed at easing regulatory oversight. In a blog article, TikTok General Manager for Operations in Europe Rich Waterworth said, "We are at an advanced stage of finalising a plan for a second data centre in Ireland with a third-party service provider, in addition to the site announced last year."

Meanwhile, The Guardian reports the European Commission has instructed employees to delete the TikTok app from work devices along with personal devices that have installed the Commission’s apps and email.
