The UK Biobank, the world’s most advanced genetic database, is struggling to access important health information held by the majority of GP practices. Biobank says it needs access to the health data held by GPs such as diagnoses, referrals, prescriptions, lab test results, and symptoms, to be transferred securely. However, only one in five Biobank volunteers have their GP information collected, despite their wishes.
