Government Security Group issues WhatsApp guidance to ministers

The Government Security Group issued new guidance across government, which raised questions about ministers using their personal phones to handle official business. Ministers and civil servants who conduct “government by WhatsApp” are at risk of being targeted by hackers. Hackers have previously targeted government officials through WhatsApp in Australia, the Netherlands, and South Africa.
