Air passengers support use of biometrics for travel purposes

The 2021 Global Passenger Survey from the International Air Travel Association has identified 73% of passengers are interested in replacing boarding passes and passports with biometric data. However, out of 13,000 passengers surveyed, 56% expressed concerns about loss of data due to breaches, while 52% were concerned with a lack of knowledge of who their data is shared with, and 51% were concerned about data handling and storage. In contrast, 51% also said they would share biometric data with hotels or car rental companies.
