Worldcoin aims to create a global biometric ID network

Worldcoin, the cryptocurrency project co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, is looking to build a worldwide ID network similar to India's Aadhaar biometric ID system, according to a senior employee's statement to Reuters. Despite privacy concerns that the database could be misused, over 2.4 million individuals have agreed to have their irises scanned by Worldcoin's "orb" devices to obtain a digital ID and free cryptocurrency.
