Ticketmaster investigating data breach affecting 500 million customers

Live Nation Entertainment is investigating a data breach at its Ticketmaster unit discovered on 20 May. In a US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, the company disclosed "unauthorised activity" in a third-party cloud database containing Ticketmaster data and is collaborating with forensic investigators. Reports from a cybercrime group, ShinyHunters, claimed to have stolen user data from over 500 million Ticketmaster customers.

Live Nation is actively working to mitigate risks for its users and the company, has notified and is cooperating with law enforcement and will inform regulatory authorities and users.
