Ireland questions DPC over fears for its international reputation

Ireland is coming under increased pressure amid criticism that the Irish Data Protection Commission is too soft on US technology companies. Up until recently, the accusations have been limited to privacy activists, most recently noyb, and European lawmakers. Nevertheless, Helen Dixon has now had to defend the DPC on national radio after several regional media articles claim the regulator is damaging Ireland's reputation. 

UPDATE: 050122 - In response, European Commission official Didier Reynders publically defends the DPC amid criticism of its enforcement record.
