Norwegian DPA seeks Meta fine for US data transfers

Norway's data protection authority (DPA), Datatilsynet, is one of the DPAs that want to see a fine or advertising ban imposed on Meta for continuing to transfer personal data belonging to European citizens to the US. The news comes following a Freedom of Information response obtained by Politico, in which the Norwegian DPA told its EU counterparts: "There would be little or no incentive to act in accordance" with EU data transfer rules unless regulators act.
