Italian DPA opens consultation on data scraping to train AI systems

The Italian data protection authority (DPA), the Garante, has launched a public consultation concerning the data collection practices used for training artificial intelligence (IA) algorithms. The fact-finding exercise, which includes public and private entities acting as data controllers, aims to ensure appropriate security measures are in place to prevent the massive collection of personal data through data scraping activities. The consultation is open for 60 days.
