Italian DPA launches investigation into OpenAI's Sora AI model

The Italian data protection authority, the Garante, has announced that it has opened an investigation into Sora, OpenAI's new AI model that can create realistic video scenes from short text instructions. The Garante is concerned about the possible implications that such a service could have on the processing of Europeans' personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The company has 20 days to respond.
