ICO reprimands Children's trust in Birmingham

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has issued an official reprimand to the Birmingham Children's Trust Community Interest Company after the child protection and review department disclosed information about a child to the family of another child it was working with. The child protection plan disclosed to the wrong family contained personal information and criminal allegations. Following an investigation, the ICO found that Birmingham Children's Trust Community Interest Company had failed to put "appropriate policies or sufficient practical guidance in place to ensure the security of personal information."
