ICO report highlights need for privacy in emerging technologies

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has announced the publication of its Tech Horizons Report after informally revealing the report last week. The report, which covers Internet of Things devices along with health and financial tech, calls for companies to ensure privacy by design, data minimisation, transparency and providing users with privacy controls are incorporated into new technologies. The ICO warns that the benefits of new technologies "could be lost if people feel companies are misusing their data."
