ICO publishes analysis of common information security threats

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has published a detailed analysis of the information security threat landscape in which organisations should seek to protect themselves against. The analysis aims to help organisations "learn from the mistakes of others" by examining common security control failures that led to personal data breaches. The ICO  summarised several case studies from its regulatory activities to reveal frequently encountered issues and highlight where improvements can be made. The case studies included cover malware and ransomware, phishing, brute force attacks, denial of service, human error, and supply chain attacks.
