Infographic shows global overview of adequacy capabilities

The IAPP has developed an infographic showing the 73 countries that assign powers to either a data protection regulator or government authority to determine and approve whether other jurisdictions have adequate data privacy standards required to facilitate cross-border data transfers. Further research is required to determine how adequacy capabilities are exercised as well as illustrate the available mechanisms and guidance for transferring personal data to non-adequate countries.
