The European Parliament has voted in favour of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the EU and UK. The decision received 660 votes for approval, with five members of Parliament voting against and 32 abstaining. The trade agreement has been provisionally applied since 1st January. An agreement was needed by the European Parliament for the trade deal to permanently enter into force before it lapsed on 30th April.
