Vestager and Breton's differing approaches to AI Act outreach

Between them, European Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager and Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton have launched several initiatives to engage with industry players and international partners ahead of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act's implementation. 

For her part, Margrethe Vestager recently agreed with the US administration to establish an AI Code of Conduct. Meanwhile, Thierry Breton announced the establishment of an AI Pact with Google owner Alphabet. Both officials have proposed outreach initiatives since the AI rulebook won't be in place for another two to three years.
