MEPs reach agreement on Artificial Intelligence Act

On Thursday, 27 April, members of the European Parliament have reached a provisional agreement on the EU Artificial Intelligence Act following months of protracted negotiations. Minor adjustments to the text for technical adjustments may still take place ahead of a key committee vote on 11 May, followed by a plenary vote in mid-June. In a statement, a European Parliament official said, "We have a deal now in which all groups will have to support the compromise without the possibility of tabling alternative amendments."
