EU to prioritise DSA, Digital Identity Wallet enforcement to protect children

According to an unreleased document seen by EURACTIV, the European Union is planning to prioritise enforcement of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the European Digital Identity Wallets (EDIW) regulation to safeguard children and young adults online. A declaration will be presented at an informal meeting of Europe's telecom ministers in April, calling for the strict implementation of the DSA and EDIW. The signatories intend to issue clear guidelines to all online platforms, including the use of digital identity and age verification tools like digital identity wallets, to ensure the required level of privacy, safety, and security for all users, especially minors.
