EU member states unanimously approve AI Act final text

On Friday, 2 February, the European Union moved closer to finalising the passage of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) after Members of the competent Council of Ministers' Permanent Representatives Committee (Coreper) unanimously voted in favour of its latest set of digital rules. The vote paves the way for MEPs to scrutinise the text in the coming weeks.

In related news, the IAPP has created an infographic highlighting the key implementation dates of the AI Act, which will enter into force 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
