CNIL publishes encryption and data security practical sheets

The French data protection authority, the CNIL, has published two fact sheets on encryption and data security to address the concerns raised by organizations using cloud computing services. The first sheet provides detailed information on various types of encryption used in cloud computing services, such as encryption at rest, in transit and in processing. The second sheet focuses on the security and performance tools needed to secure cloud services, making a clear distinction between security and performance features.
