Think tank calls for centralised public sector database to power AI

Conservative think tank Onward has proposed creating a "British Library for data" to improve the country's position in the global AI race. The library would provide a secure, centralised platform for anonymised data from the UK's public services, allowing startups and scientists easy access to the data required to build AI models. The proposal has gained support from several business groups and MPs, who believe that it will attract investment and talent to Britain.
