Multi-target data breaches create 26 times more financial damage

A new report from Mastercard’s RiskRecon and the Cyentia Institute found that multiparty data breaches create 26 times more financial damage. The “Ripples Across the Risk Surface” study compiled data from more than a decade of publicly reported breaches and is based on an analysis of 897 breaches involving three or more parties. The report includes details on the different impacts from multiparty and single-party breaches.
