UK-US discuss data flows council meet, identify 2023 deliverables

The UK and US governments have announced the results of the inaugural US-UK Comprehensive Dialogue on Technology and Data. The Dialogue, which was jointly launched in October 2022, identified deliverables to "finalise and implement a data bridge for US-UK data flows" while cooperating to "facilitate global trusted data flows" through the Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules Forum. Officials from the two governments also discussed "collaboration on artificial intelligence technical standards development and tools for trustworthy AI." Moving forward, informal quarterly reviews will take place ahead of the next formal Dialogue scheduled for January 2024.
