UK Government publishes new Cyber Governance Code of Practice
08/04/2025 | UK Government
The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) has published a new Cyber Governance Code of Practice outlining the most critical actions that executive boards and company directors should take to build resilience and address a wide range of cyber-related risks. The Code, which was developed in conjunction with technical experts from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and across the industry, has been designed for medium and large organisations, although smaller organisations will still benefit from implementing its principles. The government highlights the importance of building and maintaining cyber resilience, given that the prevalence of attacks among medium-sized businesses is 70%, rising to 74% for larger businesses.
In addition to the Code, the government has published a free computer-based Cyber Governance Training programme.
