OpenAI to host AI data on UK sovereign servers

A new agreement between the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and OpenAI, announced on 23 October 2025, will see the technology company deploying its artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on sovereign infrastructure in the UK for the first time later this month. The deal, part of an ongoing partnership with the UK government, is intended to help businesses and the public sector maintain security and meet the UK's data protection requirements. The MoJ will be the first to benefit, with plans to introduce ChatGPT to its civil servants.
