Liz Kendall replaces Peter Kyle as Technology Secretary

Following the resignation of Angella Raynor as housing secretary and Prime Minister Keir Starmer's subsequent cabinet reshuffle, Liz Kendall was appointed as the new Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology. Kendall, who has served as an MP since 2010 and was previously the Secretary for the Department for Work and Pensions, will now oversee the government's digital transformation.
ComputerWeekly reports on a video to her new staff at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, she said she was "thrilled" to be given the opportunity. She added that she believes the department can help "build the future for people in every part of the country."
Kendall replaces Peter Kyle, who has been appointed Secretary of State for Business and Trade.
