In a LinkedIn post on Monday, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has announced the appointment of Paul Arnold MBE as the interim Chief Executive Officer of the future Information Commission. He will be joined by Information Commissioner John Edwards, who will serve as the Chair. Additionally, the leadership team will include a Board consisting of seven non-executive directors (NEDs).
The news follows the announcement by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) on 19 June, advertising the seven vacancies for the NED positions for the new Information Commission. The roles are for a three-year term, requiring a commitment of 30 days per annum and offering an annual remuneration of £25,000.
As a Non-Executive member, individuals will be responsible for driving the transformation of the Information Commission. This includes supporting its efforts to promote the responsible use of data across the economy, fostering trust and confidence, and encouraging economic growth and innovation.
