G7 nations commission report on AI adoption

The Industry, Tech, & Digital Ministers representing the G7 Nations met in Italy to discuss the impact of digital innovation and artificial intelligence (AI) on economic growth and industrial competitiveness. The Ministers were mindful of the complex challenges posed by digital technologies, including AI, which can affect human rights, personal data protection, security, intellectual property, and the environment. The G7 is committed to achieving an appropriate balance between fostering innovation and promoting safe, secure, and trustworthy AI. As part of this commitment, they will develop a report by the end of the year that aims to improve their understanding of AI adoption and development among companies. The report will also engage stakeholders, identify best practices and lessons learned, and provide recommendations for the deployment and uptake of safe and secure AI.
