Reynders offers update on Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework

European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders has provided updates on the new EU-US Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework in an interview with The Washington Post. Following a visit to the US last week, Mr Reynders expressed confidence in a "robust solution" that will account for "the specificities of the American legal system and the specificity of what is possible to do or not with the different actors." He went on to say that an official legal text will arrive "in the next weeks," which would commence an adequacy procedure and lead to a finalised agreement towards the end of the year or by the first quarter of next year.
