Privacy leaders call for standardisation of breach reporting requirements

International cybersecurity and privacy leaders have called for the UK, EU and US to better synchronise their data breach reporting requirements. Companies that operate in multiple regions claim varied reporting requirements create compliance issues. Robert Silvers, US Department of Homeland Security Undersecretary for Strategy, Policy and Plans, called for greater cooperation with foreign governments on breach reporting requirements.
