Contact-tracing data collected by pubs and restaurants being sold on

A breach of data protection appears to have occurred by the companies collecting data for pubs and restaurants to help them fulfil their contact-tracing duties. Legal experts have warned of a rise in companies exploiting QR barcodes to take names, addresses, telephone numbers and email details, before passing them on to marketers, credit companies and insurance brokers. 

Update: Digital Health reports ICO has confirmed it is looking into 15 companies that provide contact-tracing services to pubs and restaurants over their data protection practices.
