JLR confirms payroll data compromised in August cyberattack
15/12/2025 | The Telegraph
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has informed its 38,000 staff that their personal data, including payroll information and staff benefits, was stolen in the August cyberattack that forced the company to shut down its highly automated production lines throughout September.
Specific details concerning the compromised remain unclear.
In a letter to current and former employees, the company confirmed unauthorised access to personal data relevant to employment and administration of payroll and benefits. While JLR reported no evidence of misuse or public exposure of the data, it has urged employees to monitor for suspicious emails and to strengthen their passwords.
The latest development is the first time JLR has acknowledged that the attack resulted in a personal data breach. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has been notified of the breach.
