The Telegraph (£) reports that Greater Manchester Police are currently assessing a complaint that Reform UK may have breached the Representation of the People Act with its free energy bills competition.

However, while police review the complaint, a Reform UK spokesperson told the paper that the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has "come back to us today and said everything is fine."

According to the article, the ICO has confirmed that it is in regular contact with political parties to ensure compliance with data protection laws. An ICO spokesperson said, "We have spoken with Reform about this competition and improving transparency in how they handle people's personal information.

"People who are concerned about how their information is being used by any political party can raise those concerns with the party, and if they remain dissatisfied can make a complaint to the ICO."
