Police investigate breach of over 150 NHS Lothian staff medical records

A breach was discovered when an NHS Lothian routine monitoring system picked up unusual activity showing a staff member had viewed other staff members' medical records outside of regular duties. The affected staff members have been informed, along with the police and ICO. Elsewhere, BBC News reports that Scottish Borders Council has "apologised unreservedly" for accidentally revealing the email addresses of 1300 residents to multiple individuals as it alerted them they eligible for a free school meal payment.
