Ticketmaster claims it's not liable for data breach before GDPR went live

Ticketmaster has claimed that the £1.25m data breach fine from the ICO clears the company of any responsibility for its network being infected by card-skimming malware. The ICO fined Ticketmaster for the duration of the breach which occurred after 25th may, noting that the incident happened earlier in February. Now it seems Ticketmaster insists it is not liable to a customer for the compromise of its network and is attempting to exploit a loophole to avoid paying compensation.
