Less than a month after announcing that it was adding the ability for users to retrace their steps to find archived or misplaced content on its new Copilot+ PCs running Windows 11, the company has been forced to make changes.
Originally, Microsoft's new Recall AI feature would be switched on by default. However, in a blog post on Friday, following strong opposition from the privacy and security communities, Microsoft's Pavan Davuluri, corporate VP of Windows and Devices, said the company has listened and that if users "don't proactively choose to turn it [Recall] on, it will be off by default."
