KPMG awarded £8.5m support contract to roll out FDP software

The NHS has awarded KPMG a contract worth £8.5 million to help with the implementation of Federated Data Platform (FDP) software at a local level. The controversial FDP software is designed to use business intelligence and analytics to help the NHS recover from the backlog in care caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The deal includes "technical support and implementation services" to help Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and NHS trusts in England with the delivery of the FDP project. KPMG will support the NHSE Data Services team to build FDP capability and enhance the Data Service functions, platforms, and integrating services to facilitate the transformation change.
