DuckDuckGo now blocks all Microsoft trackers

DuckDuckGo has confirmed that it has finally gotten to grips with the third-party Microsoft tracking scripts, which the privacy-focused search engine got into trouble over earlier this year. At the time, DuckDuckGo CEO Gabriel Weinberg said that a special exception for Microsoft was due to "contractual commitments." However, in a blog article posted on Friday, the company confirms it will expand the third-party tracking scripts it blocks from loading will now include scripts from Microsoft. "Previously, we were limited in how we could apply our 3rd-Party Tracker Loading Protection on Microsoft tracking scripts due to a policy requirement related to our use of Bing as a source for our private search results. We're glad this is no longer the case." The announcement also confirms DuckDuckGo has no similar arrangements with any other company.
