California Age-Appropriate Design Code could end online anonymity

The proposed California Age-Appropriate Design Code Act would require websites to verify users' ages. Companies would be required to collect personal user information website visitors have historically been reluctant to provide to authenticate the person's age. Critics claim it would end the ability of adults to browse the web anonymously. Supporters claim it would work similarly to the UK Age-Appropriate Design Code.
