EU Commission calls Irish DPC is understaffed

European Commissioner Vera Jourova has said that the Irish Data Protection Commission is understaffed and that "further steps are needed to be taken to make tech giants act more responsibly." This comes after the Department of Justice in Ireland confirmed last week that it asked officials to consider the appointment of additional commissioners to the DPC's office. Highlighting the issue of limited resources further, a woman has brought a (Irish) High Court challenge over the DPC's handling of her complaint.
