India's proposed data protection bill will be tabled in Monsoon session

The Indian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw has said the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill (DPDPB) is on track to be tabled in Parliament in Monsoon session. In related news, The New Indian Express reports that Rajya Sabha MP Amar Patnaik claims the DPDPB will recognise Indian citizens’ right to personal data privacy and that there will be no federal override.
