US lawmakers consider temporary Section 702 reauthorisation

Given the recent level of volatility in the US House of Representatives, Members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence are considerring a "plan B" approach concerning the reauthorisation of  Section 702 of the US Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. While hope remains that the bill will be reauthorised before the end of the year, as time runs out, there could be a need for a limited extension.
