The Observer view on the ICOs Cambridge Analytica investigation

The Observer broke the Cambridge Analytica scandal in 2018. Today, the now-defunct analytics company is a household name. Following on from last weeks announcement from UK ICO Elizabeth the Denham that she had wrapped her investigation into the use of personal data in political campaigning. Her letter to parliament warned of “systemic vulnerabilities in our democratic systems” and how Cambridge Analytica exploited Facebook.  The Observer is quite rightly proud of its role in the exposure of these abuses.
