The convenience of biometric data and privacy

The expert community is concerned biometric data systems are not only flawed but, in some cases, are infiltrating our lives under the radar. The public has limited knowledge or understanding of what's going on around them. While North Ayrshire council suspended the use of facial recognition technology at nine schools due to intense backlash, there are plenty of other schools still using the technology. Professor Sandra Wachter, a data ethics expert at the Oxford Internet Institute, said, "it's about time-saving," but the question that needs asking is whether that's "worth having a database of children's faces somewhere?"
